Prof. Dr Sanjay Patole, MBBS, MD, DCH, FRACP, MSc, DrPH

Dr Sanjay Patole is a full-time clinical academic neonatologist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at KEM Hospital for Women and clinical professor at the University of Western Australia. He is a co-investigator at the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for preterm infants.
He has received training in Leadership for Senior Physician Executives at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA, and has undergone the Advanced Management and Leadership Program at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Center for Evidence-based Management (CEBM), the Netherlands. Dr Patole has made various research contributions in the areas of prevention and treatment of necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), probiotic and prebiotic supplementation and nutrition in preterm neonates.
He has more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has published 10 book chapters, more than 100 letters and abstracts, and 30 systematic reviews. He is the editor and main contributor for two innovative books “Nutrition for the Preterm Neonate–A Clinical Perspective” and “Essentials of Leadership and Management for Hospital Staff”. Prof. Patole has been an invited speaker at some of the most prestigious scientific meetings in the area of neonatology.
