Dr Umesh Vaidya, MBBS, MD (Paediatrics), DNB (Paediatrics)

Dr Umesh Vaidya is currently engaged as the chief consultant neonatologist at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEM), Mumbai, and the Head of Paediatrics and Neonatology Department at the Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital, Pune.

He is a governing member of the West Zone at the National Neonatology Forum. He is a post-graduate teacher and examiner in neonatology and the President of State Chapter of the National Neonatology Forum. He is also the chairperson of the National TPN development programme.

He underwent training in neonatology at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA, and Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

He has been instrumental in developing neonatal intensive care facilities at the KEM Hospital since 1996 and in developing neonatal care in various district hospitals in Maharashtra.

Dr Vaidya is well-known in India for his passion for quality neonatal care and has keen interest in both parenteral and enteral neonatal nutrition. He has co-authored a book on preterm care for parents.
